From Upwork Freelancing to a Registered Tech Company: Our Journey

engineersTech didn't start in a boardroom. It started on Upwork in 2017, with a handful of engineers taking on freelance projects after their day jobs.

The work was unglamorous at first — bug fixes, WordPress customizations, small API integrations. But every project taught us something about what clients actually need versus what they think they need. That gap became our competitive advantage.

By 2020, we had a core team of five engineers consistently delivering together. We weren't a company yet, but we operated like one — shared standards, code reviews, and a reputation for reliability that kept clients coming back.

The pivot came in 2023 when we registered in Bangladesh and committed full-time. The decision wasn't easy. Freelancing is flexible; running a company is relentless. But we saw an opportunity: the market was flooded with agencies that over-promised and under-delivered. We wanted to be different.

Our philosophy is borrowed from Telegram's playbook: stay lean, hire only engineers, and let the work speak for itself. Every team member at engineersTech is a software engineer. No account managers, no salespeople padding timelines. Just engineers solving problems.

Today, we serve clients across four continents, maintain seven SaaS products, and hold e-CAB membership. But the core hasn't changed: we're still a group of engineers who believe great software should be accessible to everyone, not just those with enterprise budgets.
